Rhea County Courthouse where the historic Scopes Trial was held. The courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum is located in the basement of the Rhea County Courthouse on Market Street in Dayton, between Second and Third avenues.

The Main Street Dayton Walking Quilt Trail features nine individual blocks scattered around the historic district of Dayton. Stop by the Welcome Center at 107 Main Street to pick up a walking trail brochure that features each location on the Main Street Dayton Stars that collectively make a traditional nine patch pattern. Bright Star

Located in Dayton, this waypoint along the Quilt Trail is part of Rhea County, within the Southeast Tennessee region.

MAIN INFORMATION

This building has a fun history. The building was built in 1909 and was originally Bailey Hardware. It eventually became Abel Hardware. During the Scopes Monkey Trial, reporters stayed in the upstairs section of the store. It is now home to Artcrafters.

At Artcrafters, you can get a picture custom framed, shop for some handcrafted arts and crafts, browse the art gallery, take art classes, or buy art supplies. While there you can even take a coffee break in their ArtCafe where they serve tea, coffees, and treats.

MAIN INFORMATION

The Dayton Revival Center was the Cumberland Presbyterian Church until 1977. The Dayton Revival Center purchased the building in 1991. They hold services on Sunday.

Located in Dayton, this trail stop along the Quilt Trail is part of Rhea County, within the Southeast Tennessee region.

MAIN INFORMATION

At SBH sports you can buy sports equipment, fitness equipment, or get something engraved. This building has a long history in Dayton. It was established as Johnson Hardware in 1890 by the Johnson family and stayed in operation until 1988. It is now home to SBH Sports.
