MAIN INFORMATION

Kennedy’s Back in Time Farm is located in the northern tip of McMinn County in the Sewee Community. It has been in the Simpson-Kennedy family for 125 years. It is now a fifth generation farm owned and operated by Ted and Winona Kennedy Pless. The barn on winch the quilt square is displayed is a historical building. The center of the barn was the original Sewee School which was located at the crossroads beside the nearby Sewee Church of God. The land for school and the church cemetery was donated by Winona’s great-grandfather, Joseph Simpson. They later purchased the school later when it was closed. It was placed at its current location and extensions were built on each side. For years it was used as a Tobacco barn and the school portion was used to store grain.
