MAIN INFORMATION

Mountainside Cabins and Homestead offers 5 rustic cabins for year around vacation rental. Enjoy access to 360* mountain views on 40 acres on the TN/NC border. Kitchens are fully stocked, linens provided, heat/AC, hot water and indoor plumbing. Each cabin has an outdoor area with a firepit, charcoal grill and picnic table. There is a screen porch and porch swing. Mountain views of the sunset are visible at all cabins. Mountainside Homestead includes chickens, ducks, guineas, turkey, a pig, dog and several cats. We have a lavender garden with about 90 plants as well as a summertime vegetable garden, herb gardens at each of the cabins, and many, many sunflowers growing on the property. Fresh chicken (frozen) and farm fresh eggs are available from our flock for purchase along with a variety of homemade soups, stews, beans, jellies, sauces and fire cider. Local honey, lavender bunches, lavender honey, and locally roasted fresh coffee beans are available for purchase as well. This area is known for the Hot Springs along the French Broad river in town at the Hot Springs Resort and Spa. It is also known for the The Appalachian Trail as it runs right through town. There is hiking, fishing, kayaking, tubing, horseback riding, antiquing, snow skiing, and many other things to do in the area. There are restaurants in town to dine at as well as a brewery and taproom. Biltmore is about an hour away in Asheville, Bush's Baked Beans factory and visitor center is about a half hour away and Dollywood is just over an hour away in Pigeon Forge. You are welcome to stop by and see the barn quilt most anytime. If you have an approx ETA, text 828-206-0598 to let us know you will be around.

A sunflower pattern was found online several years ago and modified to what they were looking for. In July 2021 Amy finally moved forward in faith and painted it on the side of their barn after thinking about it for so long as to how to even begin it. The sunflower barn quilt goes along with the theme of the mountain with all the sunflowers on the property. Oh, and it's Amy's favorite flower.
