Quilt Pattern
Ohio Star
MAIN INFORMATION
The Ohio Star is a staple for generations of quilters and the official quilt block of the state of Ohio. The Ohio Star is a 9-patch block with three rows of three squares. Four of the squares consist of four- quarter triangles. The beauty and endless variety of this pattern comes from the placement and contrast of color within this simple structure. Historically it was extremely popular with the Scottish and Irish immigrants of the Midwest and is found in many traditional Amish quilts
Barbara Tolleson purchased this quilt at the Livingston Antique Emporium to add to her collection of antique quilts. The fabric indicates that it was made in the 1930s or 40s
Bill Herren is a local artist from Baxter, TN. He started his art business in 1997, although he has been painting all his life. His mural art is featured on many local buildings in Cookeville, McMinnville, Crossville, and Livingston.
