Walter & Jewel Hall Family moved into the farmhouse on 420 Old Qualls Road on March 17, 1947. Walter Hall, his father John Hall and Jewel's father, B. Flatt, built the house. In 1938, Walter, John, and B. Flatt built the barn on the 100-plus acre farm on Old Walton Road. Then the farm stretched all the way to Buck Mountain Road. For many years, feed for their livestock was stored in the barn. In recent years, sunflowers grow in the field in front of barn, and it is a favorite location for photographers and artists in the area. Walter L. Hall passed away in September 2002.
