MAIN INFORMATION
The Grove Building is located at the intersection of Grove Street and Highway 11. This intersection is in the heart of downtown Loudon within walking distance of great eateries, shopping and historic buildings. The Loudon County Courthouse (circa 1872) is directly across the street from the quilt square and inspired the quilt pattern selected for this location. Just behind the courthouse is the Carmichael Inn Restaurant, which has unique museum boards in the lobby telling the history of this log structure and the adjacent Orme Wilson Building. R.T. Wilson - who legend says was the inspiration for the character Rhett Butler in Gone Withe the Wind - began his vast financial empire here in Loudon. The Grove Building is only a short drive away from other quilt squares at Sweetwater Valley Farm and Tennessee Valley Winery.
