MAIN INFORMATION

Step in the doors of the Greenback Drug Store and step back in time. Built after the fire of 1923, the drug store was run by pharmacist "Doc" Cook until his death and then by his son and son-in-law, Fred Cook and Dessler Byerley. Like most drug stores at that time, there was a soda fountain where patrons could order up their favorite treat and pass the time with neighbors. The hot dogs with chili were a local favorite. The business now operates as a successful diner, but the Greenback Drug Store has kept its name, the soda fountain seating, and the legendary friendly atmosphere. By the way, you can still order a hot dog with Mrs. Cook's traditional chili.
