FOUR GENERATIONS OF PHARMACISTS.Thomas Emett Goff was one of the early Monterey founders. The first building on the site was the West Crest Hotel. When it burned, he rebuilt a drug store. At the time of his death in his 90s, Goff was the oldest licensed PHARMACIST in the state. His son and daughter-in-law, Dewey and Louetta Goff took over operation and ran it for many years. One of Goff’s nieces (one of the three he raised as his own, Therea Watson Bishop and husband Harold, came back to Monterey and opened Bishops Drugs nearby, but came back into Goff’s Drug store to help the ailing Dewey.
