The owners--a cabinet maker and an artist--built and painted the barn square to pay homage to their farm -- Pecan Hill. The basic design of the barn quilt is called Twin Star with a pecan leaf added to the center. The property is home to many pecan trees.

The owner of this beautiful barn quilt loves to dance. Her sister, a local barn quilt artist, painted this piece to honor the love of dancing and gave it to her.
The Springfield Distillery barn quilt features a compass rose in black and white on a maroon background. The compass rose is a symbolic guide and welcomes travelers from all four corners of the globe. The compass rose is also symbolic of the long road the owners have traveled to settle in Halifax County and their family tradition of military service.
Cancer: The disease is a puzzle that throws the lives of its victims into a puzzle. This block is on the Halifax County Cancer Association office that helps cancer patients unravel the puzzle. This block was designed in purple and lavender as they are the color that represent all cancers and was designed by a local cancer survivor and given in honor and memory of cancer patients.
