MAIN INFORMATION
The J. Merle Crawley Agriculture Service Center Building was once the Administrative Building for Bonny Oaks School and Orphanage. The Reformatory received its first students during 1898.During the time that the children lived there, the school went through many changes and become an environment providing a loving and compassionate home for numerous children. The school included a very progressive farm program where the students learned to work on the farm. The farm produced almost half of the necessary food, meat, milk, and vegetables that were consumed by the children. The school is now closed but its rich history lives on. The Service Center lives Houses many different things.
The quilt square is patterned after a James Merle Crawley Family Quilt. The building was named after James Merle Crawley who was an educator, coach, and agriculturist.
