MORE INFORMATION
In Altamont, Dr. and Mrs. Joe Gray owned and operated the Manor Bed & Breakfast host Indian Trails. The block is placed on the side of the log cabin behind Moffitt Manor that served as Grundy County’s very first courthouse and now it touts the honor of hosting Altamont’s very first barn quilt on a historical building. The Manor, once owned by the infamous Fanny Moffitt, is a large, federalist style plantation like home that sits between highways 50 and 108. Due to Mrs. Gray’s failing health, the bed and breakfast is closed, but the Gray’s still call it home. Dr. Gray is the minister of the Church of Christ at Altamont.
