The Collins family is one of the oldest Melungeon families to have settled in the Kyles Ford area. Collin's Melungeon Star represents the deep family history and Melungeon heritage that make this area so unique.
Most everyone in the Grainger County area has heard of "Ritter Farms" or has seen the trademark red barn and farm market on Hwy 11w. Less known is the story of Stanley Ritter's Great, Great Aunt Rosa and her many quilts.
This log cabin has been in continuous use by the Moore/Rogers family since it was first constructed in the early to mid 1800s. The Williams family has deep roots in the area, having founded Mooresburg and descendants owned the Mooresburg Springs Hotel, a popular Victorian-era mineral springs resort.
The Busler family's farm in Perrin Hollow off of Indian Ridge Road in Blaine, Tennessee has been a farm in continuous operation for over ninety years. In the past, tobacco was grown and cured in the barns. Today, Gary Busler offers farm fresh produce.
