The quilt block is based a quilt handmade by the owner's mother using the father's old ties and was painted by Artist on Main.

Original quilt was made in 1975 by owners grandmother Sarah Bontrager of Alden, NY and is available for viewing on request. Pieces were made from various leftover materials and Sarah had use of only one arm.
