Our Vision

By placing heritage quilt squares at selected sites, we not only celebrate our Appalachian regional heritage, visitors to the area are encouraged to follow the trail, stop in, stay awhile, and become a patron of local businesses.

Today there are more than 200 heritage quilt square locations in 19 counties across East Tennessee. All members enjoy a wide array of benefits by participating the Appalachian Quilt Trail economic development initiative.

How to Apply to Host a Heritage Quilt Square

Sewing a Quilt

Commemorating the Quilt Pattern

Installing a Quilt Square

Press Conference for the AQT

 

  To apply to host an AQT Heritage Quilt Square location, please complete the following:
  1. Review the AQT guidelines, requirements, & criteria.

  2. Print and fill out the application.

  3. Attach a printed color copy of the quilt block pattern you would like to use at your location.

  4. Attach photos of your location and other documents as outlined in the site requirements.

  5. Return application to:
    AQT  Director
    P.O. Box 379, Rutledge, TN 37861 

Once the application has been reviewed, you’ll be contacted. Unless the application is for a location of special consideration to be reviewed by the Appalachian Quilt Trail Advisory Committee, you should receive notice of application status within 14 business days.
